CHOOSING A COFFIN OR CASKET

Choosing a coffin or casket is an important aspect of a arranging a funeral. At Australian Federation Funeral Directors we understand that everyone's preferences and needs are different. Therefore we have a range of coffins and caskets for you to choose from that cater to budget and personal choice.

What is the difference between a coffin or casket?

The difference is basically of one design.

Coffins are tapered - narrow at the head, widest at the shoulders and tapered in towards the foot. These are made from timber-veneer, custom wood, composite board, solid timber and enviro-board and come in a wide variety of colours and finishes.

Caskets are rectangular in shape and come in a range of designs, have a hinged lid and are available in a choice of solid timber or metal and come in a wide variety of colours and finishes.

Occasionally families may request a special design or you may wish to personalise the coffin/casket. Wherever possible we will endeavour to meet all requests made by our client families.

Whichever coffin or casket you decide upon, special design or environmental they are all hand crafted by specialists using premium grade materials so that you can be confident you are getting the very best.
